UPDATE: We have additional display space for small pieces. Feel free to enter works under 24″ too… We can pretty much take anything up to 10′ now that the extra small works space is confirmed. If you have already entered and want to add an additional piece and pay via Paypal, you may send the $5/piece to firstname.lastname@example.org from your Paypal account using the “Send money” feature, or mail a check for the additional to the same address in the prospectus.
This is an opportunity to be juried in to an amazing display space (Pauahi Tower’s gorgeous travertine lobby with soaring ceilings and a beautiful, spacious Koa display case) and to place your work on display for a longer term exhibit with the goal of selling some of our member’s larger pieces. There are no awards, but the proceeds benefit our educational grants. We are looking for original work that is for sale only. The larger the piece is, the more likely it is to be selected for display (up to 10′ in the largest dimension is acceptable). We can take some smaller works, but this will be competitive. 3D work is welcome and has unusually good display cases with glass protection – 3D work 48″ and less recommended. All work must be corporate-friendly (meaning no controversial, religious, political, etc… art). Please visit the exhibit page below to download the prospectus – entries are due 2/24/18.http://windwardartistsguild.org/wag-ultra-show-i/
(which will only be available until the show is hung)

Windward Artists Guild is holding its 57th annual Member’s show at the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden Gallery October 2 – 28, 2016. Please join us at our reception Saturday, October 8 from 5:00 – 7pm.
Below is a preview/overview of the show. The works are beautiful especially in person, and each piece is carefully placed in order to harmonize with the art next to it. Cynthia Schubert (who organized the exhibit and directed the placement of art on the wall), MaryAnne Long (who assisted the entire day), and the members who helped hang the art did a wonderful job. Thank you to all our excellent volunteers and to the members who are displaying their talents. WAG hopes our visitors enjoy the show!
All Windward Artists Guild Members are invited to participate in the upcoming 57th Annual Member Show during the month of October at Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden Gallery at the end of Luluku Road in Kaneohe. Please download the prospectus below:
Aloha WAG Members! As part of the Coral Reef Symposium, WAG will have an art booth with no commission (hence, the literally priceless opportunity) where you may sell art to the conference-audience (which will be marine biologists and other ocean specialists). We are having a booth either June 22, 24 or possibly both.
2. All art offered MUST be ocean or beach-related subject matter.
3. All art must be able to be packed in a suitcase or able to be taken to the post office or UPS to be mailed to the customer’s address within 48 hours of sale. Prices for shipping need to be able to be estimated on the spot.
4. There is no commission. This is a WAG member perk.
More details will be forthcoming, but you need to email windwardartistsguild (at) gmail.com if you are interested ASAP.

The gallery is open daily from 9 AM – 4 PM, and entry into the gallery and garden is free.
The reception and awards were presented on the evening of Friday, October 9, 2015. I am finally posting a recap with photos of the reception.
First, the awards for this exhibit were as follows:
First Place: Linh Tang
Second Place: Davilla Harding
Third Place: Warren Stenberg
Honorable Mentions: Dorothy Brennan, K Armstrong
Congratulations to all our excellent winners! The work was of a particularly high caliber this year. Thank you to William Zwick, the curator, for helping jury and hang the show.
The board members were all present except for President Carol Moore.
Thanks to everyone who attended the reception. Thanks also to everyone who visits the show throughout October, and particularly to those who have purchased works from the show. We appreciate your support of the arts in our community!
