This four day workshop allows students to learn the basics of plein air painting at some of Oahu’s most picturesque beaches. Whether you are a budding artist still learning the basics, or a more advanced painter, this is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills. Benefit from one on one attention and explore Oahu’s natural beauty. This workshop is limited to 8 students allowing for plenty of individual attention.

DAWN YOSHIMURA COLOR BRIDGES WORKSHOP
This 3 day Plein Air Workshop on May – 16,17,18 2016 allows students to learn the basics of the plein-air wet-on-wet technique of painting. Whether you are a budding artist still learning the basics, or an advanced painter, this is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills. Benefit from one on one attention and explore Oahu’s natural beauty. Lynne has exhibited her artwork internationally and is a Signature Member of Plein Air Painters of Hawaii. She has won several top awards in juried shows.

Dawn Yoshimura will be holding a Color Bridges workshop (similar to those she runs in Sweden) at the Nohea Gallery on March 19, 2016 from 9 to 11 am. The Figure in Plein Aire for Oil Painters
WAG Members 2016 Workshop
William Zwick is well known in the arts community of Oahu; he the owner and principal instructor at Zwick Academy of Fine Art (ZAFA) in Honolulu. He is extremely accomplished in portraiture, figurative work, and landscape.
He will teach The Figure in Plein Aire for Oil Painters in our first workshop of 2016.
William Zwick will teach The Figure in Plein Aire for Oil Painters as a workshop over 4 consecutive Mondays sessions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Feb 22, Feb 29 (it’s Leap Day!), March 7 and March 14, 2016.
Session 1 – Elements of figure drawing and painting at ZAFA Studio. Live model.
Session 2 – Elements of Landscape Painting from nature.
Session 3 – We will be working from a live model in a landscape setting.
Session 4 – Same as Session 3.
Participants should already have familiarity with the use of oil paints.
Materials list will be provided after registration.
The workshop is being offered to WAG members. You may renew or join, but you must be a member to participate.

We anticipate this workshop will fill well before the deadline, but all checks must arrive by February 15.

TO GIVE FREE WORKSHOP AT BEN FRANKLIN
Thomas Deir, who specializes in everything from tile murals to realism and abstract art, will give a free 2 hour workshop at Ben Franklin in Enchanted Lakes on Saturday, March 19 from Noon till 2:00.
HOW TO CREATE A PAINTING FROM SCRATCH
It will consist of planning an idea to a finished colored sketch and then to a painting. There will be no special tools needed, just a note book and a pencil to take notes.
