OUT IN THE ELEMENTS
Downtown Art Center

This show is all about the outdoors. Recommended for experienced artists working in either raku or plein air only.

A NOTE ABOUT THIS VENUE FOR WAG ARTISTS: All artists start out as novices, and certain shows are easier for inexperienced artists to gain the skills they need to become professional. This show is geared at artists with an intermediate skill set and prior experience in group shows. Some of our WAG shows are great for learning skills, and they are rather forgiving for new artists, but this show requires a high level of professionalism and is not guaranteed to have an intake staff that is working to help you learn new skills. We highly recommend either waiting for our fall show, or enlisting professional framing unless you are experienced with preparing work for galleries. Unframed/Gallery Wrap 2D work should have finished/painted edges and professional quality d-rings and coated wire on the back. The curator, Jackie Lau, will reject any work that is not up to professional standards.

Exhibition on view dates: June 30 through July 31, 2021
Exhibition venue: Downtown Art Center, 2nd Floor Exhibition Hall
1041 Nu’uanu Ave, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817

Bring in and install work: All artwork, forms, and fees shall be brought to the Downtown Art Center (DAC) on Sunday, June 27th, from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm.

We are looking only for artists that work with Raku and Plein Air Painting so the acceptable media/genre are limited to artwork created with those processes only.
