We miss our physical shows but are actively planning for 2022! Here is a look back at 2019 and our 59th annual member show... In light of continuing concerns for COVID, we are planning to have our 61st annual member show online. It is free to all WAG members and our views and sales last year were very good so it will be a worthwhile endeavor for our artist members. We are glad to be able to offer this show digitally until we can schedule something in person. We have been discussing options for 2022 in the hopes we can welcome our new members face to face. There is nothing like hanging a show together for teaching new artists how to put together a professional presentation, but this is the best alternative under the circumstances with our usual venue still closed. We thank each and every one of our members for supporting the educational goals of WAG. We have been very active especially with digital education in conjunction with Adventist Health Castle and the wellness program. It is the volunteer efforts of our board and support of our membership that helps make programs like this possible! Mahalo!
Several Windward Artists Guild Members are in the latest show at Downtown Art Center which features raku ceramics, fire pit ceramics, and plein air paintings. All art on display was created with outdoor processes. The display is up from June 30 - July 31, 2021 Wednesdays - Saturdays 11 am - 6 pm. There will be a raku ho'olaule'a (party) on July 17, 2021. WAG is turning 60 this year, so we are gearing up for a special show to celebrate this landmark. 2020 Online Show: 60 years of WAG will be an online show since many local venues are shut down. Online shows do have certain advantages. They are easier to share with friends and family who live far away, and they don't have to be taken down rapidly to share a finite physical space. Sales can be more easily facilitated by e-commerce. Lastly, anyone who is comfortable with technology can help select awards, no matter where they live. We have taken this opportunity to seek a juror from the neighbor islands. Accomplished Maui watercolor artist and teacher Carmen Gardner has agreed to select awards for us. Please see her artist bio sheet here, listing her many awards and professional highlights: Carmen-Gardner-BioDownload Also, please visit her website to see her beautiful art and learn more: www.carmengardner.com We are excited to offer this show to our members! The 59th Annual WAG Member Show is on display at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden Gallery in Kaneohe until October 30. Thank you to everyone who came to the reception and for those who purchased artwork especially! The exhibit is very good and several art pieces found their new homes during the reception. Congratulations to all the artists and to everyone who will be taking home beautiful new original art! Come see the show between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm daily. The gardens are free to the public and boast some of the most beautiful views outside the gallery as well. It's a great idea to see the show, and then enjoy a picnic lunch or a stroll to the lake. Below are a few of the walls you will see at the show, but not all of them - enjoy the preview!

The 59th Annual Member Show is on display at Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden Gallery. The gallery is located at 45-680 Luluku Road by the visitor's center. Come see the beautiful and meaningful artwork created by our guild throughout October (until the 26th). The gardens are magnificent and are open for free to the public daily from 9 am - 4 pm. There is plenty to explore after you have seen the art show, so plan time for a nice long walk if you can. Here are two previews of the show, but of course it is only showing about half the wall space. Prepare to be impressed - it's a great show! Remember that the Ultra Exhibit is still on display at Pauahi Tower in downtown Honolulu as well - it is rare for us to have two shows at the same time for the guild, but it's been a great year for exhibit opportunities!
Once again Windward Artists Guild has placed a show at Pauahi Tower's gorgeous second floor space which is covered in beautiful travertine stone and topped by soaring coffered ceilings. The spacious venue allows WAG artists to show their large works which offer a valuable interior design option for offices and homes and the chance to collect major works from talented local artists. All works are for sale and 15% of those sales are donated to Windward Artists Guild whose mission since 1960 has been to stimulate the visual arts on Oahu. We will use the proceeds to fund our education grants, workshops, and to help sponsor art events that are beneficial to the community. The Ultra Exhibit is on the second floor (up the escalators or elevators). Show Dates: August 4, 2018 – January 4, 2019 Pauahi Tower is open from 6 am – 6 pm on weekdays, Saturdays 8 am – 2 pm; Closed Sunday Location: 1003 Bishop St, Honolulu, HI 96813 Parking entrance is on the left at approximately 1080 Alakea Street (Bishop Square Parking), or you may park in public parking at Alii Place across the street if you prefer a more affordable option with a small walk.
